Reed House

  • This extension of a mid-century bungalow uses steel and glass to take full advantage of a verdant site near Midtown Atlanta. 22 linear feet of window wall allows the new Living Room and Office to feel as if they are positioned outside under the tree canopies. Exposed I-Beams and tightly spaced board-and-batten cladding help delineate the contemporary addition from the footprint of the existing structure.

  • The tight site constraints and the desire for an addition that did not overwhelm the existing bungalow in terms of scale and proportion required care and technical precision.

    Atlanta, Georgia
