The Molly Blank Center for Opera and the Arts is a 52,000 SF adaptive reuse and cultural arts project in Atlanta, Georgia transforming the historic 1941 Bobby Jones Clubhouse into a contemporary home for opera, music, performance, and arts education. Located within Atlanta Memorial Park and adjacent to the Atlanta Beltline, the project repositions a historic civic structure as a new cultural anchor that connects architecture, landscape, and community.

The challenge of the project is reimagining a historically significant structure as a contemporary cultural destination while preserving its civic presence within Atlanta Memorial Park. The proposal explores how performance, education, landscape, and public gathering can coexist within a restored landmark while strengthening connections to the surrounding neighborhood and Beltline corridor.

The facility houses two dedicated performance venues while extending opportunities for music, gathering, and education into its lobbies, piazzas, and outdoor lawn spaces. Carefully integrated into the surrounding landscape, the project reinforces the relationship between architecture, public space, and Atlanta’s evolving cultural identity.
