The historic transformation of a textile mill from the 1800’s provides 82,000 SF of office space and 70,000 SF of Restaurant & Retail less than a mile from Uptown Charlotte. Located next to a multi-use trail and a new metro stop, the 27-stall food hall, multiple restaurants and breweries at Optimist Hall draw crowds of people every day.

This historic gingham mill located just north of Uptown Charlotte had been out of commission for decades. We reimagined the building, inserting contemporary additions and interventions while working with SHPO and NPS to maintain the building’s historic designation.
